St. Augustine’s Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, 

Allow yourself to recite this to the Holy Spirit even if you do not feel it like I do not sometimes

That my thoughts may all be holy.  

Allow yourself while reciting this to change your thoughts from being obsessed about a person, to thoughts of loved one(s) and how lucky you have him/her/them

Act in me, O Holy Spirit,  

Allow yourself to take actions within yourself that are not sinful in nature.  For me, I follow the commandment You shall not commit adultery

That my work, too, may be holy.  

Allow yourself to follow a path of helping others to reach holiness though this may seem distant and unknowing at this point

Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit  

Allow yourself to fill your heart with graces from the Lord

That I love but what is holy.  

Allow yourself to discard vigilantly all that is not loved by God

Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit,  

Strengthen and protect yourself by praying as I pray the Holy Rosary

To defend all that is holy.  

Allow yourself to choose the righteous and ask God to defend your thoughts to holiness

Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit,  

Allow yourself to ask St Michael the Archangel to guard with the the armor of the Holy Rosary

That I always may be holy.  

Finally, pray this prayer every day and every night
