It is no surprise that while I start to write about the subject of money, the points come out jumbled. I say this because in my faith formation God’s love is more important than money. I do not spend much time compared to faith thinking about money.
For those who have money, they may think of having more or they may spend more. For those who do not have money, they wish they had more.
My mind is not formed of material goods and when it is, I find my way out through love.
I am sure there is a lot to write about money since it can buy almost anything. I was excited to write but now I am not so sure.
Literally every day, I think about money. I think about what I would do if I had a lot of money or won the lotto. I would buy a home to house the homeless in my neighborhood. I know that it is not easy but I already have the house up for lease picked out. I think about how this would put my mind at peace that I am able to help the community.
Money tends to mix things up because ultimately money cannot buy true love. The person with the money would be spending on all sorts of material goods in search for True Love.
When beginning a new family, the breadwinner can pay for anything needed by the family.
Very often one would say I wish I had money
There is really not so much to write about money because, after all, it is incomparable to the many wonders that are received from believing in God.
How can money help?
Very often the thought of giving money to a charity is a lump sum act of charity. That is, personally, I do not think of how the money is used really. When I do think about it, this is how I think.
I know of various charities that bring clean water to many families who need access daily.
I know of various non-profit organizations that fight against human trafficking.
I know of various churches that need donations to fund the education of their parishioners in the faith.
I know of various people in the homeless community who wouldn’t mind an extra bit of dollars to buy something to eat.
While these are large and small projects that need funding, this is not the full exhaustive list. Now, reader, take a moment to think of your list of charities.
Why help?
I have heard a couple of people refusing to help the homeless. Their debate is that the homeless should get up and find themselves a job; they’ll spend it on drugs and drinking, anyway. So, why help?
Looking at the big picture. A homeless person still has a choice to do the right thing like you and me. The first thing is to eat. If the homeless person chooses to buy drugs or drink alcohol instead, he is already on his way to death. But, if he or she chooses to nourish himself or herself, the body is under less stress. From the moment to the next meal, he or she can make good decisions that do impact their lives, like it or not.
Sleep in the park under the basking sun.
Walk to another city.
Openly bless families coming out of the groceries, on a hot summer day, hoping for something cool to drink in return.
Hope a good family is praying for them.
This is a guideline on how to spend. Spend reasonably and moderately for necessities. If you have extra, spend on things that you can enjoy with your loved ones.
Out of all these arrives LOVE. How? Well, these are all acts of love through charity, like Mother Theresa of Calcutta did for the poor.
Given these choices to one homeless person, he or she will find himself or herself grateful and hopefully, he or she will find God like I did in my book – Gratefulness in Random Thoughts. With gratitude, I love God more and more and grew in my faith that all that is said of the goodness of God will be realized one day. That, there is eternal life; forgiveness; and salvation, through Jesus. No one will know the Father except through Jesus, it is documented in the bible.
