God’s humor

On the Road to becoming a Saint

I first found God’s humor in a dream.  I have forgotten the dream, but I was so amused that I found myself smiling and giggling uncontrollably from deep within during my slumber.  It was one of the happiest moments in my life when God showed Himself to me in a different light.

Last night, I dreamt again.  As a teenager, I had a crush on a certain boy.  He appeared in several scenes in the dream, but we never talked.  I knew of his presence when he passed by, but I was too shy to say anything.  Just as I thought he would never notice me, he finally said, “Do you want to catch dinner tonight?  And, perhaps lunch tomorrow?”  I was immensely tickled and giggled with glee at what God was revealing to me, that in real life, my relationship with my husband was now complete.

It was complete because, upon waking up, I did not yearn to be in a past relationship with someone else, but with my husband.  I felt fulfilled and complete in my relationship.  The certain boy I had dreamt about may have, in reality, been my husband when I was younger, and God’s humor added advantage to the relationship he forged between us after having been married to him for over 19 years.  After God made me giggle with glee, I felt fulfilled and heard about my notion of a marriage fit for heaven.
